Wiesbauer was founded in 1931 and has become one of the leading companies in the meat processing industry in Austria. Today, Wiesbauer Gourmet supplies the premium gastronomic sector with high-quality meat and sausages.
The company relies not only on traditional craftsmanship, but also on state-of-the-art technology to fulfil its high quality standards. In the last financial year 2024, the Wiesbauer Group generated sales of €237 million, with Wiesbauer Gourmet Gastro GmbH accounting for around €83 million. Since 2017, private customers have also been able to conveniently order first-class meat products for home delivery via the company's own online shop. This service is becoming increasingly popular and has established itself as another success factor for the company.
When building the new deep-freeze warehouse, the focus was on automation in order to make work processes more efficient and reduce physically demanding tasks for staff. The planned automated small parts warehouse is operated at approx. -22 °C and has trays as loading aid. These enable cartons and goods of different sizes and heights to be transported safely. With a capacity of over 21,000 storage locations, the warehouse offers sufficient space for flexible storage.
The system is further supported by a manually operated pallet warehouse, which serves as a replenishment warehouse. Particular attention was paid to the design of the order picking workstations, which are located in a temperature-controlled area at around +5 °C. Additional sequencing stations are available at these workstations in order to prepare the trays in the optimum sequence for order fulfilment. Buffering stations ensure buffering and overtaking of the trays and guarantee continuous operation. Particular attention was paid to the ergonomic design of the workstations to make it easier for employees to work in cool but not freezing conditions. Goods are stored, retrieved and pre-picked in this area at moderate temperatures, which significantly improves the comfort and efficiency of work processes. The workstations are equipped with scales to enable the picking of goods by weight.
The entire logistics system is controlled by the modern and intuitive warehouse management software KlinkWARE, which ensures that all material flow processes run smoothly. The entire system can be displayed in dynamic overviews using the KlinkVISION visualisation software. This enables rapid alarm diagnosis and thus further increases the operational reliability and efficiency of the processes. The combination of sophisticated automation technology and advanced software ensures that Wiesbauer Gourmet is optimally equipped for the future and can continue to offer its customers top quality.
