Logistics planning, robotics, cold and deep-freeze storage - Klinkhammer at LogiMAT

18 March 2024 - Klinkhammer Intralogistics is a specialist for efficient and customised solutions in the field of system integration in intralogistics. At this year's LogiMAT, Klinkhammer will be focussing on three areas: Logistics planning, robotics systems and automation as well as projects in the food sector with deep-freeze and cold storage.

Logistics planning for the most effective and economical solution

More than ever, companies are facing the challenge of optimising processes and facilities in their logistics centres. But where do you start, what goals make sense and what measures are necessary? These and similar questions are at the beginning of a change process that requires thorough preparation. This is precisely where the intralogistics experts at Klinkhammer provide their system-neutral logistics planning. It starts with a comprehensive inventory. Bottlenecks and potential for improvement are documented and targets defined. These can be, for example, a consolidation of storage space, accelerated throughput times from picking to loading or optimised stock levels. From future-oriented performance figures, a target-performance picture, a technology-neutral comparison with scope for future expansion to a solution concept with detailed planning, all parameters are analysed in detail. The result of the multi-stage logistics planning includes plans, system and process descriptions, cost views and deadlines. It also takes into account on-site location details, technology, IT infrastructure and personnel capacities. This holistic elaboration of all details in turn leads to rapid realisation of the projects.

"With our logistics planning, we can significantly shorten the subsequent realisation times of a system. The advantages for the customer are obvious: increased efficiency, cost savings, competitive advantages and investment security," emphasises Frank Klinkhammer, Managing Director of Klinkhammer Intralogistics.  Many companies have also recognised this. More and more companies are commissioning Klinkhammer with forward-looking logistics planning to provide a manufacturer-independent view of the most economically sensible and effective logistics solution.

Robots and automation open up new potential

Robots open up new potential in intralogistics and enable warehouse concepts to be automated to a completely different level, for example when recognising, gripping and slicing or storing and retrieving a wide variety of products. "In times of staff shortages and rising costs, robotics solutions play a crucial role in increasing efficiency and competitiveness," explains Tom Preller, Sales Manager at Klinkhammer Intralogistics, "Artificial intelligence and robots will redefine intralogistics." Frank Klinkhammer adds: "We are at the beginning of a turning point that will affect many areas of the warehouse with tremendous dynamism." At LogiMAT, Klinkhammer showcased the solutions he has implemented, for example at Kühne+Nagel, which brings flexibility to warehousing with Exotec warehouse robots, or at BESTSELLER, where a fashion warehouse of the future was realised, a solution that won the Danish Automation Award.

Wide range of expertise in the area of fresh food services

Wholesale companies for fresh food require very specialised storage solutions. For example, all temperature zones must be covered in order to guarantee the optimum product quality of sensitive goods at all times. The product ranges - from washing-up liquid, vegetables and meat to frozen food - also require very different storage locations. Added to this are legal regulations and challenges such as delivery and storage times. Klinkhammer Intralogistics is one of the specialists beyond Germany's borders that can score points with its comprehensive expertise in the area of fresh produce services. Projects for Früchte Jork GmbH, Gebrüder Kofler GmbH in Austria and Frischdienst Walther demonstrate the diversity of solutions and expertise. Whether automated dry, refrigerated or deep-freeze storage, the use of shuttle systems, an inertised fire protection concept or tray storage solutions, individual concepts are used to realise optimum solutions for the customer. Klinkhammer will be presenting examples of its projects at LogiMAT.
