Successful year 2020
Klinkhammer was able to finalize numerous logistics systems last year and looks back on a successful year 2020. The family-run company, with further locations in Poland and Turkey, plans and realizes automated storage and order picking systems, including software and life-time service. Automation offers customers from food, retail, e-commerce and industry significant competitive advantages for their in-house flow of goods. Due to the high level of orders received in the years 2019 and 2020, Klinkhammer is already well booked for 2021. Compared to the previous year, sales have increased by more than 30% in 2020. Klinkhammer places its main focus on medium-sized companies in Germany and neighboring countries. About 70% of the logistics systems have been built in Germany. Logistics planning is a further strength of Klinkhammer and a growing market, as more and more customers want sustainable planning and investment security. „Although we also have to assume volatile sales due to the corona situation with travel bans, trade fair cancellations and fluctuating markets, our new building will be implemented as planned“, explains Frank Klinkhammer, owner and managing director. We are creating modern company headquarters, enabling creative and efficient work and offering our employees new freedom for innovation.“ The new building will be completed by the end of 2021. The move is planned for spring 2022, in time for the 50th anniversary.
Technical center with AI-supported shuttle and robot technology
The new company headquarters is being built directly adjacent to the existing company premises on an area of 5.500 square meters in the industrial area Schmalau in Nuremberg. The future administration building with technical center will comprise 3,655 square meters of office space and usable space. Rooms for innovative warehouse technologies will be provided in the separate technical center. It will serve as a test and demonstration center for AI-supported shuttle systems and picking robots, which will be integrated into automated warehouses. The warehouse management software KlinkWARE controlling all material flows in the warehouse and the state-of-the-art visualization system KlinkVISION will be shown there as well as automated picking processes. Innovation is the driving force for future warehouse strategies. In 2021, there will be some innovations from the company Klinkhammer again. Thus, the software KlinkWARE will receive a new graphical user interface, making user interactions easier than ever and every user will be able to utilize the warehouse management software without extensive training.
Innovative working atmosphere
Together with the Herzogenaurach-based architecture office Babler + Lodde and the general contractor for construction Max Bögl, Klinkhammer turns its vision of an innovative work environment into reality. The energy-efficient building fits perfectly into the sustainability strategy of Klinkhammer and offers space for development. Modern building materials such as the exposed concrete sandwich facade enable optimal insulation and a perfect room climate. A building shading and cooling concept ensures comfortable temperatures throughout the entire building. Of course, parking spaces providing charging stations for electric vehicles were also planned. Bright and generously sized open-space offices as well as light-flooded meeting, training and break rooms ensure an innovative working atmosphere. A large roof terrace with a winter garden can be used both for events as well as for the creative exchange of ideas in an airy atmosphere. In addition, the outdoor terrace directly connected to the restaurant offers the opportunity to enjoy breaks in the fresh air. With the new company headquarters, Klinkhammer sets an example to enable work in a stimulating, open setting.
