Klinkhammer Intralogistics Day 2016: Experience Production Logistics 4.0 Live

Nuremberg/Wiesentheid – digital networking, production logistics 4.0 – these are the two slogans that will be in the spotlight of the fourth Klinkhammer Intralogistics Day (KIT). What is so special about the KIT is its focus on practice. Participants will look forward to guided tours through the recently completed logistics system of Göpfert (machines for processing corrugated board) and the logistics center of BIG (toys) with lectures giving an insight into the details of the systems. From practice – for practice.

Already for the fourth time, the Klinkhammer Group organizes its KIT – Klinkhammer Intralogistik Tag (Klinkhammer Intralogistics Day). On November 9, 2016, it will be all about the topic “production logistics 4.0” at Göpfert. At the Wiesentheid site, the worldwide leading manufacturer of machines for processing corrugated board has realized a new logistics concept. The printing, slitter and scorer machines of the manufacturer based in Lower Franconia are used in more than 50 countries worldwide. With the Klinkhammer Group, digital networking of the assembly lines and of the spare parts supply has found its way into the warehouse. The manual processes were replaced by an automated warehouse and paperless order picking. An automatic, extremely compact tote and pallet warehouse with pre-zone and order picking work stations guarantees optimum processes. Simultaneously, the receiving area including incoming goods inspection for external manufacturers as well as the shipping area for new and spare parts was integrated into the material flow and digitally networked. The second highlight of the event will be the guided tour through BIG which will provide an insight into optimized production logistics.

Looking behind the scenes and information at first hand
As in previous years, practice will be in the center of the KIT, Klinkhammer Intralogistics Day. Apart from the lectures, there will be plenty of time for discussions and live presentations. Hence, visitors will be again allowed to look behind the scenes and visit the intralogistics solutions of Göpfert  in Wiesentheid and, just a few kilometers away, the BIG factory producing daily around 2000 BIG-BOBBY-CARS and talk to experts and users on site. “This time, the participants of the KIT will look forward to two highlights. On the one hand, the extremely compact realization of a tote and pallet warehouse including the integration of all storage areas into a networked material flow solution at Göpfert, and on the other hand, the automated warehouse solution of BIG for the globally active SIMBA DICKIE Group” outlines Frank Klinkhammer, Managing Director of the Klinkhammer Group. “This way, the participants will be given a rare glimpse into the optimized intralogistics processes of two very different branches of industry – mechanical engineering and toy industry.” In the field of production logistics, the BIG factory  has a lot to offer. From the injection moulding and blow moulding department to the semi-finished goods storage, further to the supply of the assembly lines, palletizing robots and pallet stretchers, the storage of the finished goods in the 30 m high, triple-deep automatic silo-type high-bay warehouse, via 90 order picking lanes and RF forklift trucks to the shipping area. The Klinkhammer Intralogistics Day will conclude with an evening event including brewery rally and medieval menu. During evening hours, participants will have the occasion to exchange ideas about the impressions gained and discuss about networking.

The invitation goes to logistics, warehouse, production and IT specialists allowing them to learn how to make their warehouse logistics even more efficient and how to really simplify processes. As in previous years, the number of participants for the KIT in Wiesentheid near Würzburg is limited, participation is free of charge. Participants are requested to register until October 17, 2016.
