Forklift terminals

Operating forklift terminals is one variant of guiding users in the movement of materials. Alternatively, this can be also ensured using voice or handheld RF terminals. Forklift applications are integrated logically into the entire flow of goods and data, i.e. from goods receiving incl. acquisition of product and loading auxiliary data to loading shipping units on trucks. Storage, order picking and stocktaking are processing / transaction classics. At BIG, forklift terminals assume the task of storage and order picking in manual warehouses; at ACVK, the forklift terminals additionally are responsible for order picking in the pre-zone of the high-bay warehouse.

Forklift terminals incorporate a wide range of other functions
The advantages of forklift terminals are their fixed installation on the forklift truck and the power supply from its rechargeable battery, the touch screen, the long-range scanner and the comprehensive dialog behaviour which e.g. voice terminals do not offer. Additional information can be displayed and entered without great cost of effort for the operator. Due to the embedded operating system a forklift terminal behaves like a PC and can be addressed and equipped likewise. The functions of the forklift terminals are based on the DC21 layer model and thus on standard functions available to all front-end systems. Consequently, these functions offer a high degree of maturity and good adaptability.
