Klinkhammer moves to new company headquarters to celebrate its 50th anniversary

Klinkhammer turns 50! Success story with modern intralogistics solutions. Intralogistics expert Klinkhammer turns 50! A Franconian success story.

Nuremberg (04/2022) - In time for the 50th anniversary, the new building for the new company headquarters of Klinkhammer, including a technical center, is completed creating optimal conditions for further growth of the intralogistics specialist.

The investment amount was 10.5 Mio. Euros. In the past half century, Klinkhammer has made a name for itself throughout Europe. In the planning and implementing of automated logistics centers, the company is regarded as a modern, creative solution provider and independent system integrator in the industry.

The company plans and implements automated warehouse and order picking systems including software and lifetime service. A further, very successful mainstay is the area of logistics planning and consulting. More and more customers want sustainable planning and investment security in advance. Klinkhammer has been able to considerably expand its business in this field as the company combines longtime experience and innovation. In the past 50 years, Klinkhammer realized more than 1000 projects in more than 15 countries. Even after a project is completed, the company usually stays connected with its customers via a lifetime Service24. The company focuses on medium-sized businesses with an emphasis on German-speaking countries and neighboring countries. Besides the location in Nuremberg, Klinkhammer is also present in Poland.

Sustainable technology for the new building
Next to the previous company premises in Wiesbadener Street, a new office building and technical center were constructed and recently occupied. Hereby, Frank Klinkhammer, managing director of Klinkhammer Intralogistics GmbH, turns his vision of an innovative working world into reality. The energy efficient building fits ideally into the sustainability strategy of Klinkhammer and offers room for development and creativity. Modern building materials, an active floor for heating and cooling, a heat pump using the outside air to produce heat or cold and a photovoltaic system on the roof of the technical center enable an optimal energy balance and a perfect indoor climate. Of course, the parking spaces have also been designed with charging stations for electric vehicles in mind.

Innovative working world
A large roof terrace with winter garden, the sky lounge, can be used for events as well as for the creative exchange of ideas among employees. In addition, the outdoor terrace directly connected to the casino offers the possibility to enjoy breaks in the fresh air. With the new company headquarters, Klinkhammer sets an example to enable work in a stimulating, open environment. The focus of the new building is on a modern working environment, flat hierarchies and open communication, which is already being practiced today. Frank Klinkhammer, managing director of Klinkhammer Intralogistics GmbH since 2000: „We have grown significantly in recent years, work areas and work structures have changed as well. In our old company building, we could only implement this with difficulty. In addition, we have enough potential for the future in the new headquarters. A large number of open positions, particularly in the area of software programming, are waiting to be filled by motivated and committed colleagues. “

Technical center with AI-supported robot technology
The technical center serves as test and demonstration center for innovative warehouse technologies such as AI-supported shuttle systems and order picking robots which are integrated into automated warehouses. The administration building with technical center comprises 3655 square meters of office and usable space. „Besides our new company headquarters, the technical center was particularly close to our hearts. Here, our customers can experience the latest technology live, but we can also test and further develop, because innovation is a decisive growth motor in intralogistics” underlines Hagen Schumann, managing director of Klinkhammer Intralogistics GmbH.

A new software for the 50th
The jubilee not only moves into a new company building, but also presents itself and its customers with innovations in its warehouse management software KlinkWARE. The software is the core of each Klinkhammer logistics system. With KlinkWARE 11, the software receives a new graphical user interface and flexible dashboard, the Klinkhammer Flexboard. In addition, the most modern programming technology is used through the web framework Blazor. This makes user interactions easier than ever and any user is able to use the warehouse management software without extensive training.

Milestones and company history
The family business was founded in the year 1972. Adolf Klinkhammer started in the basement of his row house in the North of Nuremberg as an engineer office with innovative logistics planning. In 1977 he created a second mainstay with the production and assembly of conveyor technology components and in 1980 moved the young company to Wiesbadener Street. Even then, Klinkhammer not only planned complete central warehouses, but also surprised again and again with new in-house developments. Some examples have been and still are a multi-order picking system for fast and slow movers, autonomous pallet shuttles or KlinCAT, the multi-level shuttle for containers. The company looks back to a history full of technology milestones, from logistics planning to electronic control technology and system visualization to GUI-tested software, the digital twin or the use of product innovations such as shuttle robots and robotic piece picking. In 2021, the company focused on the optimization and further development of its warehouse management software and thus strengthens its reputation as an IT and digitization specialist for intralogistics.

And Klinkhammer today, at the age of 50?
Over the past five decades, Klinkhammer has made a name for itself as a partner for future-proof solutions in the field of automated logistics. Today, the company mostly serves its customers holistically, from consulting and logistics planning to on-schedule commissioning and software up to the Service24. Thereby, Klinkhammer always takes a manufacturer-neutral look at the economically most sensible and most effective solution. „According to the motto: ‚We make logistics simple‘, we make complex processes transparent and simplify logistics tasks“, explains Frank Klinkhammer. „We offer companies solutions for their future storage technology and software, without building up unnecessary overcapacity or permanently driving at the limit. With our know-how from 50 years of intralogistics, we support our customers to get the best out of their logistics.“ Frank Klinkhammer takes stock: „We look back on exciting and thrilling years and automation projects. I would like to thank all employees for their great achievements.“

Besides the Polish branch office, the Klinkhammer Group also comprises Klinkhammer Immobilien GmbH & Co. KG in Nuremberg and Klinkhammer Förderanlagen Stahl- und Montagebau GmbH in Halle/Saale. The management of the latter two companies is with Detlef Klinkhammer. While Klinkhammer Intralogistics GmbH is the logistics specialist of the group, Klinkhammer Förderanlagen Stahl- und Montagebau GmbH is focused on laser cutting and welding technology and the assembly manufacturing.
