Clean room

Work in clean rooms is particular insofar as special rules apply to installation and commissioning of a system: starting with the selection of materials, lubricants and drive concepts up to clothing of the technicians who put into operation the devices and service them.

Clean room as closed system
For the software - plant control system and MFC - the clean room application does not constitute a special kind of handling the warehouse technology. In practice, however, it is often the case that closed systems are operated. This is the case at Heidenhain and Osram where semi-finished products get into the clean room via a production step, remain there for various production steps - being relocated or put into interim storage - and finally leave the clean room again via a production step. As no person is working in the clean room, data acquisition is realized by means of a machine communication allowing also batch and single product tracking.
